HIS BURNING ONES

I want to welcome you to my blog. Many years ago the Lord impressed upon me to begin to write and journal about the times we would spend together. Over seven years ago the Lord told me to begin to publish the things that He both showed me and spoke to me during those intimate times with Him. The more I sought to hear from Him, the more He showed up. Those moments have both encouraged, healed, and ignited my heart. I hope you enjoy every article shared here as I continue to journey closer to His heart and share the words that He whispers. I pray that you are encouraged and ignited as well. May you draw nearer to Him as He draws nearer to you. I also want to invite you to send any prayer requests you may have. My husband and I both love to pray for others and see God bring their needs and desires to pass. May you be blessed and thank you for visiting.

13 This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God's Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ. (Ephesians 4:13 NLT)

Let It Be Unto Me

What happens when God divinely interrupts our lives or the plans that we had for ourselves? What do you do when the way seems unclear and how are we to make sense in what might appear to be chaos? Did you know that when you asked Jesus into your heart you made Him Lord of your life...we need to truly understand what this means. What you did when you received salvation is that you not only made Him  your Savior but your Lord as well. You made Him Lord and Lord of all. You gave Him supreme control of your life when in fact He actually already had a plan for your life. You could not enter into that plan until salvation. Salvation is simply coming into alignment with what already is for you. You see Jer.29:11 tells us this truth.

I know the plans I have for you says the Lord...this tells you that you do not know the plan for your life and that it has already been written by Him.

How different would your life be living from that truth? Would you trust more, would you seek to spend more time with the only One who knows the plans for you, or would you rest from striving? The answer is yes!

Knowing and believing this truth would allow you to have peace in the divine interruptions of your life and to trust when life doesn't go as planned and believe me, most of the time it won't because He is God and His steps are untraceable. His ways are unfathomable. I have learned the truth of His word that declares His ways are truly nothing like our ways. In fact most of the time the chaos in my life was actually bringing about a greater good than I could have imagined. We must simply trust in what we cannot see because we trust the One who is with us and in His love for us. In the light of just celebrating Christmas lets talk about an example of this through the life of Mary.

Mary was probably dreaming about her wedding dress and planning for her wedding when the Lord sent an angel announcing God's plan for her. While she was preoccupied with picturing life with the man of her dreams, God was inviting her to be the Mother of Jesus, the Savior of all mankind! How different are His plans for us must be!

30And the angel said to her, Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found grace with God. 31And listen! You will become pregnant and will give birth to a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus. (Luke1:30,31)

Talk about an interruption! Or was this an invitation to something far more than Mary had planned for her own life? What would happen if we started to view the interruptions in our lives as really invitations from our Father for something far greater and bigger than what we had planned? It seems in studying the lives of the people used by God we will see this same pattern.

Joseph was interrupted by a pit and a prison that God used to prepare him for the palace! God invited Him to save a nation during a time of devastation.

Moses was interrupted by a burning bush that he couldn't explain. God invited Him to be a deliverer of His chosen people.

Gideon was hiding in a winepress when God used an angel to interrupt him and then invited him to confront his personal weakness that He might see God's strength. God then used him and his outnumbered army to defeat a mighty enemy.

You see His ways cannot be understood or explained. We must simply believe. What He has spoken to you about your life is something that already has been, is, and will be IF you agree. What I mean is that you must come into agreement with His foreordained plan. It cannot happen without your agreement and partnership. We must come to Him as a child who just believes what their Father has promised. We must answer His invitation to us as Mary did. She didn't need the details or the how, what, and when. She just replied in childlike faith.

38Then Mary said, Behold, I am the handmaiden of the Lord; let it be done to me according to what you have said. And the angel left her.

In this next year when God brings His invitation or reminds you of His previous invitation, let our answer be as our example in the life of Mary. May our reply to His plans for us be "Lord let it be unto me as you have already planned, as you have already designed it to be, and as you have spoken."

Hanukkah, The Season of Miracles

Tonight begins the Festival of Lights, also known as Hanukkah or Chanukah. It is an eight day festival that celebrates the victory of light over darkness. It commemorates a time when a small group of  Jews, (The Maccabees), against all odds defeated a mighty army. After driving them from the land and retrieving the Holy Temple, they then rededicated it to their God, who had given them the victory. When they searched for oil in which to light the menorah, they had only enough to light the candles for one day. Miraculously, that one day supply lasted eight days, giving them the time needed to make fresh oil according to their ritual. The Jewish people now celebrate this time from long ago in lighting each candle on the menorah for eight consecutive days. They do this is remembrance to their victory and their God.

God hasn't changed! He is still a God of miracles! I cannot think of a more perfect time, like the Jewish people,to remember the miraculous acts of our Heavenly Father in our lives. It is in remembering how Faithful He has been that encourages us in our current struggles today. He is the same! If God carried you through before and performed miracles on your behalf then, He will still be who He is. A Great God, able to do what only He can do! I am thinking tonight of a very particular miracle in my own life around this time last year. After being laid up for 6 months due to an injured knee, I had finally obtained the insurance needed to move forward with repairing my knee. The doctors had told me I needed an MRI as soon as possible, only I did not have $500 to pay my deductible in order to do this. My husband and I prayed for a miracle because we know Him to do what man cannot! He always comes through! He did perform a miracle through my family! They surprised me with a visit for Christmas and a check in the exact amount I needed! What miracle do you need? There is no better time than now to ask Him than now, a time when miracles have happened long ago! Do you need a financial miracle like my family did? Is it relational or maybe healing? You can be sure that God already knows and all you need to do is believe for it right now and receive it! I come in agreement with you for your miracle, the same God who provided for me will indeed provide your needs. I encourage you tonight and for the next eight nights to remember all the miracles He has done and let your heart be encouraged that He will keep doing what He only He does! Miracles that cannot be explained or traced! Be blessed this season as you and your family reflect on all He has already done and encouraged in all He is about to do! It is indeed a time of Miracles so let not your heart be troubled. Let the miracles begin!!

Jesus looked at them and said, With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible. (Matthew 19:26 AMP)

For the One

Would you dare to live for just one? If you took a chance to do something for God that could take from your personal time would you? What if the crowds didn't gather to hear your heart, listen to your songs, read your stories, or come see your art? Would you still pour your heart and passion into it? The Lord pressed upon my heart with this recently. What if you are never recognized in this life for what you did, would you still go through with it?
These are the questions we need to ask ourselves...is what we are doing about us or about others? It made me think about the life of Jesus, our true example. I thought about how He seemed to always withdraw himself from the crowds to reach that ONE who was hurting or to be alone to pray. Everything He did was in obedience to His Father and in service to others.

38How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him. (Acts 10:38 NIV)

15However, the report went around concerning Him all the more; and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by Him of their infirmities. 16So He Himself often withdrew into the wilderness and prayed. (Luke 5:15,16 NKJV)

He wasn't interested in gathering people to hear Himself teach, he truly cared about the people He was ministering to. He loved them. Oh, that God would break our hearts to love as He does. I will be the first to admit, I'm so far from loving others as Jesus does. Please help us Lord. Please pour more of your love into our hearts to love as you do.

Look around you and you'll see, our world is falling apart and only ONE thing can heal it. Love. He is Love. Oh, that we would let Him empty us so He can fill us with more of His love. Then and only then would His love go through us and onto others. I'm not giving up but I do see this is a big job that is going to take all of us working together and walking in sincere love. It's a task that is bigger than us but by no means is it bigger than our God!

I'm hurting tonight as I see the things happening all around me. There is chaos in cities, children missing everywhere, and families falling apart everyday. There are kids who go to bed starving and some who don't even have a warm bed to sleep in tonight. My heart is aching as I'm snuggled under my covers writing this. It would be so much easier to just pull the covers over my head and pretend I do not see this. I cannot do that, because there is something that burns in me and maybe you are feeling it burning inside of your heart right now. It is God, it is His love yearning to be expressed. You couldn't hold it in if you tried. So what do we do? Well for starters we can make this our resolve.

I'm not living for mans approval anymore. Been there and done that. Only leaves you more empty than before. Only He can truly fulfill our hearts. Only He can remove every sorrow and breakthrough as bright as a sunray on an early morning. Only He will ever be enough.

I'm not living for myself either, because I've learned there is no joy in that. What good would come from me living all my dreams and then having no one to share it with? The greatest and most joyful life, is the one lived with God and for others! Let's wake up and decide to make someone else's day a little brighter than before. We once lived in darkness and remember the moment He broke through it all with His marvelous light! We owe Him our lives.

I'm living for Him. I'm committing to giving Him everything I have and all that I am! However, little or much it is. Yes Lord, if only for you and for the one. If this reaches one heart. If my life matters for one. I was one, so hopeless and so desperately lost. I was one that you rescued. May you take my life and rescue one from the darkness that life can leave us in. Even just one. One life in your eyes is priceless. Let us follow in your footsteps.

12What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray and gets lost, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountain and go in search of the one that is lost? 13And if it should be that he finds it, truly I say to you, he rejoices more over it than over the ninety-nine that did not get lost. 14Just so it is not the will of My Father Who is in heaven that one of these little ones should be lost and perish. (Matthew 18:12-14 AMP)
