I wondered how many would actually click on this blog entry and dare to ask God for this. To be wrapped up in His kindness of heart and garment of beauty...humility. A beautiful mark on a disciple of His.
I love the way that God showed me through the journey of the tabernacle was our journey to Him. The outer court being the largest place and the most room for grace. The inner court where we grow closer to God and the revelation He reveals in this place leaves of with a responsibility to follow Him in a more intimate way. And then there is the Holy of Holies. The place of the abiding Presence of God, the place of the Shekinah glory in all its fullness.
This place at the time of the Old Testament was only entered once a year by only the High Priest appointed by God. It is interesting to know that in order for him to go beyond the veil, the curtain that separated the Holy place from the Holiest place he had to remove all of the clothing of his priesthood. He was literally stripped of the jeweled ephod and the glitz and glamour that made up his royal wardrobe given to him in service to God. The high priest was to go beyond wearing only the pure white linens as a symbol of purity, holiness, and humiliation. There he would meet face to face with God in all His glory and splendor,to make atonement for all the nation of the Israelites.
“He shall put on the holy linen undergarment, and he shall have the linen breeches upon his body, and be girded with the linen girdle or sash, and with the linen turban or miter shall he be attired; these are the holy garments; he shall bathe his body in water and then put them on.”
Leviticus 16:4 AMP
The high priest was a type and shadow of the High Priest Jesus Christ who was to come who would live a spotless, sinless life and die for all mankind's sin, guilt, iniquities, shame, and guilt. When the veil was rent He had overcome all and stripped all of its power to harm us. Jesus truly conquered all as our High Priest!
“Inasmuch then as we have a great High Priest Who has [already] ascended and passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession [of faith in Him]. For we do not have a High Priest Who is unable to understand and sympathize and have a shared feeling with our weaknesses and infirmities and liability to the assaults of temptation, but One Who has been tempted in every respect as we are, yet without sinning.”
Hebrews 4:14-15 AMP
I want to share an experience with you that happened recently in hopes that you are encouraged in your places of weakness so that Christ's power can be seen in and through you all the days of your life.
I had four months to prepare for the Women's conference in which I would get to teach about God as Creator and destiny. There couldn't have been anything that I could teach that would excite me more than that, it was my most favorite topic to share and talk about! It has been what changed my life forever, knowing who made me and why. And yet I was drawing blank as God had me busy on other assignments until the week of the event. I began to receive the download from the Lord piece by piece of what He wanted to give and say to His daughters.
The morning of the session I am getting ready in the bathroom and extremely nervous. Here I am a young woman and the conference was full of women who I knew I could learn so much from. What could I have to say that could possibly help any of them? I bowed my head to the Lord and prayed this prayer.
Father, I have nothing to say that these women need to hear but you do. I want to tell you Lord that I cannot do this without you, in fact I know I will fail. The only way this will be a success is if you show up and do what only you can. Please come and speak to your daughters. I felt a sense of peace in resting in Him. And I remembered how the night before I closed my eyes the Lord had me to say three times...The spirit of the Lord is upon me, He has anointed me...and then I fell asleep.
That is when He spoke so clearly to my heart. Yes, daughter I can and that is why I have called and anointed you indeed.
I knew that was the place He wanted me to be. Completely dependent on Him, understanding that it was Christ who rests upon me and would be who He was. He is strong, he is passionate, he is powerful, he is brave, and Jesus can preach! He is would be in me that very day. And then, I couldn't wait to share and see what He had planned.
Beloved sons and daughters of Christ He is and will be all through you and me. We must humble ourselves and our personality and all we are on to Him and let Him do all He desires! I tell you this is the true meaning of humility and it's not weakness but strength and it's precious in His sight. I do not ever want to be in a place where I can apart from Him, for then it is only my strength and not His. David slayed a giant in true humility, Joshua led an army to conquer, Gideon overcame his enemies, and Jesus gave His all clothed in the garment of humility in which he did only what His Father said and showed him in the power of the Holy Spirit. Let it be unto us that Jesus may be and do all that He desires through us with no limitations. Arise Lord Jesus in us and be glorified!
“But He said to me, My grace (My favor and loving-kindness and mercy) is enough for you [sufficient against any danger and enables you to bear the trouble manfully]; for My strength and power are made perfect (fulfilled and completed) and show themselves most effective in [your] weakness. Therefore, I will all the more gladly glory in my weaknesses and infirmities, that the strength and power of Christ (the Messiah) may rest (yes, may pitch a tent over and dwell) upon me!”
